Amsterdam

Seven months ago, I took the best trip that I have ever gone in my life. I had always wanted to go to Amsterdam and I was lucky that I was at Nestor Almendros and I could go with my school. I went with two best friends and many people that I like. I was so excited and I couldn't sleep the night before. When we landed at the airport, the families were there waiting for us. I went with my host family and had lunch at a modern restaurant. Then we all went to a spanish pub because we wanted to see a football match. I went by bicycle and I was afraid because there was so much traffic. The following day we went to climb and we had really fun. That night we went to a party in the milky way, which was the most famous disco at Amsterdam. I slept that night in Jocea grandparent's house with Pablo Toca and Bufa too, and it was so funny. The next day we visited Anna Frank's house and then we did a gymkhana. We went to another party at night and it was better than the other. The day after we went to a beautiful town and then we all ate at Iris's house, which was so big. Then we went to another party at Kaile's house and I had to cycle one hour to go back home at 5:00 am. The days after we went shopping, we went to had dinner together and see other monuments and more things. I had to say that Amsterdam is a place to go once in your life because it is impressive and funny. I would like to repeat this trip again.

CHEETING

There are many people that cheat at the bilingual group. We have been together for six years and we have lived many experiences. There are many ways of cheating, but in this class the ways are really special. Most of the people laugh when they hear about them because they are unbelievable. However I have to say that they are really true, and I have some anecdotes to tell. We have had our Chemistry teacher Maripaz for four years and our exams have always been a bit "special". Two years ago, our classmate Javi had the idea of cheeting with the windows. He was seated by them as well as he was cheating. The notes were fixed at the windows and the teacher didn't realized. It was so funny to see the windows fulled of notes. There was other case that is really funny. Our classmate Valls took toilet paper for a Chemistry exam. We didn't know why he had taken it but them we understand it. After the first fifteen minuts there were lots of toilet paper flying from one side of the class to the other. We had written the chemistry problems on it and we were passing them. The teacher thought that everybody had a cold.

Classmates and friends

I have to say that there are two special people who have been in my class. However they left my school because they wanted to go to another. These people are Jaime Fernandez and Ana Jiménez. Jaime was in my class the first two years at Nestor Almendros. He is a funny boy, he is always triying to make people laugh. He is one of my best friend. Although he is not in my class since I was in second year, he is part of my group of friends and also he lives next to me. Sometimes he might be annoying but he is one of the best person I have known. Ana has been in my class for four years, but she left the school two years ago. She is a good friend, she is so generous and we like to do the same things. I had a great time with her in London and we laugh a lot in that trip. I miss her so much, she lives in other town, so it is more difficult to meet her.

I would like to talk about my maths teacher Fernanda. She was my teacher last year and she had been at the Nestor Almendros for many years. But this year she isn’t in the school. Fernanda is very famous in the school, and also in other schools. She has a bad reputation because very few people pass the exams with her. The half of the class fail the exams, some people with a zero, others with a “nothing”. However, I realized that the exams weren’t so difficult, she only wanted that we thought. The exams weren’t mechanicals; we have to think using what she had taught. The lessons were boring sometimes because she brings the students to the blackboard and they took a long there. Nevertheless the student that came to the board learnt so much. In my opinion, Fernanda is a great teacher and I have learnt more maths than other years.

My EARLIEST MEMORY

I remember the first time I went to my high school like yesterday. I have known my classmates for six years but that day I didn't know anyone. I was afraid because I was really young and the building, people and teachers were new. My english teacher was hard with us the first day because she didn't speak spanish and our english wasn't so good then. So, we were very afraid and we thought it would be very difficult. Furthermore, we were surprised because each subject has one teacher and in primary school we had always have the same for all the subjects. I didn't like very much my first day in this school, but then I met many friends and I was happy with all the teachers.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF TELEVISION

Nowadays many people all over the world spent most of their time watching television. But it has many advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it is useful because it informs us about the world. Furthermore, humorous stories and funny films bring us minutes of relaxation after a hard's day's work. On the other hand, television maybe is a good media of communication, but it prevents us from communicating with each other or with the real world. In adittion, television sometimes can be a bad influence for children and young people. It is a distraction and they don't do their homework and study. To sum up, television is useful to us when we know who to use it.

Three meters above the sky

Babi, a model student of 18 years, and Stefano Mancini (Step), who is 19, met and fell in love. First, she did not want a relationship, if not host with Step. In fact, the first time they had spoken was at a party and they can’t stand each other. On this occasion he also knows Babi's boyfriend and he beats him. After days spent skipping school, lying to parents and having fun in dangerous illegal motorbike races, the two will have a beautiful love story, until one becomes dependent on the other. Babi discovers love with Step. At the same time, a relationship between the best friends of the protagonists, Pollo and Pallina, helps Step and Babi’s love, a race and a rave-party, during which the two share a first kiss mark the beginning their love story. The differences between the protagonists are initially a solid glue to their story: the two meet everyday, even if it means sacrificing some lessons. During one of the many days spent with Step, Babi gives the boy all herself in the castle of his dreams, where he leads her “at least three meters above the sky”. Howewer, they began to argue and have ups and downs. The final break comes after the death of Pollo in one of many clandestine races. Step has nothing to do wih the accident, but for Babi this is such a cold shower that she decides not to have anything to do with him because she won’t be able to live with his lifestyle. The book ends with a leap of six months: Pallina cannot forget Pollo and Step cannot forget Babi, but Babi starts dating with his neighbour and Step decided to go on a trip to forget her. Federico Moccia is a very famous Italian writer, whose most common themes are youth and love. In 1992 he wrote his first novel, named “Tre metri sopra il cielo” that in English is “Three meters above the sky”. At first he had serious problems in publishing his story, because none of the most popular houses wanted to help an unknown writer. So he published the novel on his own on November 1992. After that something very strange happened: the young students in Rome started to read the few copies of books, even using photocopies. The book soon had a great success, and for this it was also made into a film. I love this book because it is a book for tenageers and about a beautiful love story. The end of the book is very sad and I cried a little, but in my opinion is a nice book and it is my favourite.

ONLINE DATING

Many people today use the internet for online dating. Online dating is a dating system where people look for a boyfriend or girlfriend or make friends. There are many points of view when we talk about this topic. On the one hand online dating has opened a huge door for all the people out there who have bad luck dating around in real life. People who are busy, are self-employed, live in small towns or just have bad luck in real life have benefited tremendously from the advantages offered by online dating. On the other hand many peple can lie and have a false personality. There are so many desesperate people and they look for something thay you don't. In addition there are people that become adictted to chating and they depend of it. In conclusion, people can use online dating if they are conscious and responsible.

THE SUNNIEST DAY

This picture relects a day in Amsterdam with my friends. We were in a big park and it was a sunny day. All days in Amsterdam were realy cloudly while we were there, but this day the sun shone, so we could feel the sun more than ever. We were having fun and I think this piture transmits happiness because we were all together in another country and we built up our friendship with our exchanges. We could also feel the freedom while we were lying down in a big park singing and laughing. We had new experiences and we went to beautiful places, so this picture is a good memory from the best trip in my life.

CADIZ CARNIVAL

My father is from Cadiz. It is one of the most cities in Andalucia. Cadiz Carnival is a big custom there, is one of the best-known and famous carnivals in the world. The whole city participate in the carnival for more than two weeks each year, and the presence of this party is almost constant in the city because of the fancy-dresses, rehearsals, contests held throughout the year and the performers group that sing on the street called "Chirigotas" It is so easy to get involved in the carnival evenif yuo are not spanish. There, people are really friendly and you make friends easily. Furthermore, the music and the "Chirigotas" lyrics are incredible and really funny in the center of the carnival. FIGHT FOR YOUR DREAMS

In my opinion, it's obvious that people should go on and fight when they want something. I am so happy now, I have good marks and all my friends are proud of me. Furthermore, I have quite money because I am working as a babysitter. There's no doubt that I am going to fight for the career that I want and keep going in this way. I think that working hard and being responsible are the most importat things to get what you want. I am going to continue working hard and studying because in he future, I will be pleased. People have to structure their lives as they would like, because being happy and doing what you like is the most importat thing in life. In conclusion, studies are very important for your future and for the rest of your life.

¿Te imaginas que vivimos en los años 20?

Como el título del proyecto de este trimestre se llama teimaginas? Lo primero que se nos vino en mente fue hacer algo gracioso y divertido, algo que nos gustase imginar y entonces decimos que iba a ser un baile. Esta fue la primera decisión, pero queriamos algo más, y pensamos en un pequeño teatro que sirviese como introducción y también incluimos esto en el trabajo. Una vez teniamos la estructura hecha, pensamos en la crisis actual, en lo mal que está la sociedad y la juventud, y se nos ocurrió pensar en una época feliz y de prosperidad económica y social. Esta época resultó ser los felices años 20 o también conocidos como los años locos. El baile pues, debía estar ambientado en esa fecha y escogimos el cabaret, ya que tuvo su máximo esplendor durante esta década y también por su vitalidad y expresividad. El baile con todo esto ya estaba acabado asique solo nos faltaba el pequeño teatro inicial, y decidimos hacer una pequeña crítica a la actualidad en la que vivimos que sirve como comienzo y a la vez enlaza el título de nuestro trabajo ¿te imaginas que volviésemos a los años 20? con el baile.

HOJALDRE DE FRUTAS

Ingredientes: 1 plancha de hojaldre fresco o congelado Frutas variadas Crema pastelera (TIENE SU PREPARACION) Preparación: En primer lugar desenrollamos el hojaldre fresco, o dejamos descongelar si es congelado. Del rectángulo de hojaldre cortamos unas tiras de los lados y las ponemos encima de los bordes, para obtener unas paredes que contendrán la crema pastelera. Las pegamos con un poquito de agua. Pinchamos bien todo el centro del hojaldre menos los bordes, aún asi siempre tiende a subir un poquito. Sino también podemos optar por poner un peso encima, como unas legumbres secas, o bolitas de cerámica que puedan ir al horno. Horneamos el hojaldre según las instrucciones del fabricante. Normalmente con el horno precalentado a 180ºC durante 20-25 minutos. Mientras se hornea el hojaldre vamos preparando la crema pastelera (pinchar para ver la receta). Una vez preparada la dejamos templar y la extendemos sobre el hojaldre horneado. Si preferimos que la crema quede más espesa hornearemos el hojaldre con la crema sobre él. Cuando la crema haya enfriado cortamos a láminas las frutas que hayamos elegido y las disponemos sobre la crema. Las pincelamos con mermelada de albaricoque, almíbar o gelatina diluída en un poco de agua para darles brillo. PREPARACION CREMA PASTELERA Ingredientes: 500 ml de leche 125 gr de azúcar 10 gr de mantequilla 45 gr de Maizena 3 yemas de huevo 1/2 vaina de vainilla Preparación: Llevar a ebullición 375 ml de leche, el azúcar, la mantequilla y la 1/2 vaina de vainilla. Dejar en infusión y reservar. Poner en un cazo las yemas e ir incorporando lentamente la Maizena. Añadir un poco de la leche restante (125 ml) para hacerlo más fluido, hasta incorporarla en su totalidad. Colar la leche infusionada y aún caliente e incorporarla a la mezcla anterior. Llevar al fuego suave, y con el batidor ir removiendo hasta que quede bien espesa (unos 10-15 minutos).

Domestic violence is a type of abuse. It involves injuring someone, usually a spouse or partner, but it can also be a parent, child or other family member.

Domestic violence is a serious problem. It is a common cause of injury. Victims may suffer physical injuries such as bruises or broken bones. They may suffer emotionally from depression, anxiety or social isolation.

It is hard to know exactly how common domestic violence is, because people often don't report it. There is no typical victim. It happens among people of all ages. It affects those of all levels of income and education.

In my opinion domestic violence is generated by the behaviour of family members. I don’t understand how people from the same family who loved each other, and even have the same blood, can do that types of things.
